Dr. James A.M. Smith's practice is geared toward helping diagnose and treat vascular problems. He works closely with a patient's primary care physician before, during and after treatment.
Symptoms and co-morbidities may include intermittent claudication, peripheral artery disease, non-healing wounds on the extremities, syncope, TIA, resistant hypertension, venous thrombosis  (DVT).
About Dr. Smith
Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed his internal medicine residency at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. He is board-certified in internal medicine, vascular medicine, with a focus on angiography and angioplasty.
Dr. Smith underwent additional training in angiology with Dr. Ernst Schneider, M.D., at the University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland, Department of Medicine/Angiology Division, and completed a fellowship in cardiovascular and interventional radiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He was a Special Fellow in Vascular Medicine, Department of Cardiology, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation,.
He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Society of Vascular Medicine, American College of Angiology and International Society of Cardiovascular Interventionalists.
Inpatient -- Dr. Smith provides inpatient practice at all major hospitals in Wichita, Kansas.
Outpatient -- Dr. Smith provides outpatient procedures at Wesley Medical Center, Kansas Vascular Access Center and St. Joseph Hospital, Wichita, Kansas.
Dr. Smith was recognized by HCA for his angiography experience, including best utilization of resources, lowest radiation levels per case and shortest case time.
