Dr. James A.M. Smith's clinical practice is geared toward helping diagnose and treat vascular problems. He works closely with a patient's primary care physician before, during, and after treatment.
Patients who benefit from Dr. Smith's expertise include:
People who have trouble controlling their blood pressure
People who can’t walk because of circulation problems
People with wounds or infections that don't heal
People with blood clots in the legs
People who've experienced aneurysms, cardiovascular disease or rhythm problems
People who are are at risk for amputation
Symptoms and co-morbidities may include intermittent claudication, peripheral artery disease, non-healing wounds on the extremities, syncope, TIA, resistant hypertension, and venous thrombosis (DVT).

Inpatient: Dr. Smith provides inpatient practice at the Wesley Medical Center and Wesley Woodland Hospital in Wichita, KS.
Outpatient: Dr. Smith provides outpatient procedures at Cardio Kidney and Vascular (CKV) Ambulatory Surgical Center on Webb Rd., Wesley Woodlawn Hospital, and Wesley Medical Center.
About James A.M. Smith, DO
James A.M. Smith, DO is board certified by the American Board of Vascular Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Society of Vascular Medicine, and International Society of Cardiovascular Interventionists. He is located in Wichita, KS.
Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He completed his internal medicine residency at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. He undertook additional training in angiology with Ernst Schneider, M.D. at the University Hospital in the Department of Medicine/Angiology Division in Zurich, Switzerland. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular and interventional radiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He was a Special Fellow in Vascular Medicine, Department of Cardiology, at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Dr. Smith has performed more than 10,000 vascular procedures, 95% of which were outpatient. His passion and focus is to save legs, especially in diabetic patients, patients at risk for losing a limb, and those for whom wounds are not healing.
